No Coffee Coming Out of Machine

If your machine heats up but no coffee comes out, follow these steps.

Quick Checks

1. ✅ Is there water in the tank?
2. ✅ Is there coffee in the hopper/pod inserted?
3. ✅ Is the grind setting too fine?
4. ✅ Is the machine fully heated?

Common Causes and Solutions

Cause 1: Empty Water Tank

Solution:

1. Remove and fill the water tank
2. Ensure tank is properly seated
3. Prime the system by running water through

Cause 2: Air Lock in System

Solution:

1. Remove the water tank
2. Refill with fresh water
3. Replace the tank
4. Run the hot water/steam function for 30 seconds
5. Try brewing again

Cause 3: Grind Too Fine (Espresso Machines)

Solution:

1. Adjust grind setting to coarser
2. Reduce the amount of coffee in the portafilter
3. Don't tamp too hard
4. Clean the portafilter and try again

Cause 4: Blocked Group Head

Solution:

1. Remove the portafilter
2. Run water through the group head
3. If water flows, the group head is clear
4. If no water, descaling may be needed

Cause 5: Clogged Portafilter/Filter Basket

Solution:

1. Remove the filter basket from portafilter
2. Soak in hot water with coffee cleaner
3. Use a pin to clear any blocked holes
4. Rinse thoroughly and reassemble

Cause 6: Scale Buildup

Solution:

1. Descale your machine (see our descaling guide)
2. Run multiple rinse cycles after descaling
3. This is often the cause if flow has gradually decreased

Cause 7: Brew Group Needs Cleaning

Solution:

1. Remove the brew group (if removable)
2. Rinse under warm water
3. Allow to dry
4. Lubricate O-rings if required (check manual)
5. Reinstall properly

Cause 8: Pump Issue

Signs:

• No sound when brewing
• Unusual sounds from pump
• Machine vibrating excessively

Solution:

• This may require professional repair
• Contact us for warranty assessment

Prevention Tips

• Descale regularly
• Clean the group head weekly
• Use quality coffee beans
• Don't use oily beans (can clog grinder)
• Empty and rinse water tank daily
