STEAM WAND CLEANING

Best practice: After steaming milk, wipe the steam wand clean to remove any milk residue and purge some steam out to remove any residue inside the steam wand. This will keep your steam wand clean and won’t taint the flavour of your milk with musty smells from leftover milk residue.

Every so often (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), it is recommended to soak your steam wand in a cleaning solution to remove any remaining milk residue. This recommendation is based on a couple of coffees every day, at a minimum this should be done once per month.

Directions:

1. Use: mix 50 ml of solution to1/2 litre of water
2. Auto Frothers : run solution through frothing device and repeat with fresh water twice. Soak all milk lines and frothing components once a week for up to 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly afterwards.
3. Steam Wands: steam solution in a milk jug as you would milk. Turn steam on & off over a one minute period allowing the solution to work its way up the steam arm. Repeat process twice with fresh water.
